Why Cures on Tap Exists

Cures on Tap is Austin’s call to action; a one-weekend rally that proves our city can turn a night out into something extraordinary.

Every year, too many families are faced with a nightmare: A child battling cancer. While incredible progress is being made, pediatric cancer research remains one of the most underfunded areas in medicine. That’s where Cures on Tap steps in. Cures on Tap is a grassroots effort to bring the people of Austin together for one powerful mission- to raise money and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the global leader in pediatric cancer care and research, where no family ever receives a bill.

Our vision is simple but bold. The vision is to raise $200,000 in one weekend; not through black-tie galas or complicated campaigns, but by making it easy for everyone to get involved.

If someone told me all I had to do was show up at my favorite bar and drink with my friends on a beautiful weekend in March... and it was to benefit children with cancer... No questions asked... I'm there.

How?

Just show up.

On one weekend in March 2026, head to your favorite participating bar - no tickets, no wristbands, no hassle. The bars do the rest, donating a portion of their proceeds to St. Jude. Whether you're grabbing a beer with friends, catching up over cocktails, or enjoying a night out in your neighborhood, you’re also supporting a life-saving cause.

Our Goal

We’re partnering with 20+ bars across the city, tapping into Austin’s vibrant nightlife and unmatched sense of community. With over $10 million spent on alcohol here every weekend, we know the potential to create impact is massive - if we rally together. Our goal is to raise $200,000 in one weekend.

To do that, we need the entire city behind us - bar owners, brands, volunteers, and everyday Austinites who want to make a difference without changing their weekend plans.
